Circuit Catalunya is located in Montmeló near Barcelona in Spain. It hosts the Spanish Grand Prix and Spanish MotoGP. It has a length of 4,655 km and 16 turns. On this circuit, drivers primarily rely on speed. It is one of the most modern circuits in the world and a popular test track during the winter due to the mild Spanish weather.

Circuit Catalunya has 3 routes: the Grand Prix track (4,655 km); the National track (3,067 km) and the RAAC School track (1,703 km).

The circuit’s long straight has a length of nearly 1 km which makes it one of the longest on the Formula 1 calendar. The circuit consists of low speed corners as well as sharp high speed corners. Because wind directions change during the day, the cars’ aerodynamics has to be well adjusted. The cars usually experience under steer in the morning and over steer in the afternoon. Circuit Catalunya is all about speed, but in a few low speed corners drivers have to rely on their techniques. MotoGP vehicles usually reach higher speeds on the long straight than the Formula 1 cars.
